About Me

My counseling style is client-centered, interactive, and collaborative. I incorporate pop culture, games, and the power of narrative, in collaboration with clients, to help clients in challenging negative self-talk, and helping them discover (or rediscover) their preferred way of living.  I utilize Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing when working with clients.

I received my B.A.  in Philosophy with an emphasis in Ethics and Public Policy from University of California, Santa Barbara and I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2020.

At Pepperdine University, I took courses on many different subjects, including couple and family therapy, substance abuse, child and adolescents, assessment, and diagnosis. My professors contributed to the therapist I am today by teaching me the importance of genuineness, empathy, and unconditional respect for the client, which I carry with me to this day.

At UC Santa Barbara, I studied Philosophy with an emphasis in Ethics and Public Policy. Living in Santa Barbara taught me the importance of self-care and calmness and I learned not just the beauty of the city but the beauty of life from living there. Studying philosophy taught me critical thinking skills and the importance of truth in respecting and recognizing other persons’ arguments and belief systems even those that you disagree with.

I began playing chess in 1st grade and have played on and off since I was seven years old. I am a United States Chess Federation (USCF) rated player and have had the privilege to play with rated tournament players including National Masters (NMs) in competitive and casual chess playing.

I was born and raised in Orange County, California. Growing up in Orange County I learned the importance of education and hard work. To this day, the values that I’ve learned I carry into my therapeutic practice.
